Announcement ➣ 35mm + Super 8 Now Optional With Video or Photo Only Wedding Packages | Colorado Film Photographer and Videographer

Why I’m Adding 35mm Film + Super 8 to My Wedding Packages

I’ve always believed that some moments deserve to feel timeless. That’s why I’m so excited to share that I’m now weaving 35mm film photography and Super 8 film into my wedding offerings.

These formats carry a kind of magic that digital can’t quite replicate. The soft grain, the rich tones, the imperfections that make every frame feel alive. Whether it’s a quiet touch, a windswept veil, or your people laughing in the background, film captures these small, fleeting moments with a nostalgic beauty that hits just a little deeper. So if you’re someone who feels drawn to the tactile, the vintage, the romantic: this is for you. I can’t wait to create these quiet little keepsakes alongside everything else we’ll capture.

Film Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. How much does it cost to add film to my package? For now, it’s a complimentary add-on offered at no extra cost for couples booking with me for late 2025 and 2026. Think of it as a bonus layer to your story: a handful of stills on 35mm film, or a short reel of Super 8 motion: small highlight moments worked into your overall day, captured at my discretion and edited with the same love and intention as everything I create.

It’s experimental, it’s artful, and it’s personal. This isn’t always a full film roll or a long-form movie, it’s a curated sprinkle of nostalgia added where it fits naturally into your day. I’ll be using it mindfully, when the light is right and the story calls for it. Just enough to give you a few soulful, analog frames that feel like a memory already.

  2. How many film shots or how much super 8 film is included? Depending on if you’re doing a photo, video or photo and video package this will vary. Also it will vary on the hours of coverage and how the day goes - how I capture film will be an authentic sprinkle in add-on so while it’s a limited amount, it will likely be about one roll of film (approximately 20-30 still shots, or 1-3 minutes or so of super 8 footage with less being worked into your actual highlight film).

  3. Can we see all of our film scans? I will include all the best shots in your final gallery, along side the digital captures as well.

  4. What if something happens to the film? Film is specifically a complimentary add-on and not necessary to complete your project, because film is real and physical, it’s also imperfect and unpredictable. There are no guarantees that every roll will develop perfectly or that every shot will make it into your final gallery. There is no refund for film not turning out or being damaged, since there is no additional charge for the film or processing. However, I do work with professional scanning and processing companies and do my best to keep your memories safe from harm to the best of my abilities.

  5. What type of film do you use? I use a mix of Kodak Black and White, or Kodak Gold color for 35mm and for Super 8 I use Kodak 50D and 200T, or Pro8 250D.

  6. Will we get both Super 8 and 35mm film? Super 8 film will be for videography clients, 35mm with be for photography clients.

  7. Do you ever develop your own film or prints? I do know how to process and develop prints and can utilize a local dark room, if you’d ever like to go over this option let me know. The size limit is 8x10 and it is limited to black and white film only.
